Start with this pricing FAQ when you need short answers before buying, upgrading, topping up, or checking a billing issue in Rivya.

It is the short-answer companion to Rivya's pricing docs. If you want the rule reference, read Credits & Billing in Rivya. If you want the buying decision page, read Plans and Packs in Rivya.

Start With The Short Answers

  • Free is a real starting tier, not a monthly free-credit refresh plan.
  • Plans buy recurring monthly capacity.
  • Packs buy one-time overflow room.
  • One wallet covers chat, image, video, audio, and live tool-based chat work.
  • A failed run can lead to a credit reversal, but that is not the same thing as a cash refund.
  • Checkout is not fully settled from the product's point of view until Rivya refreshes the account state after return.

Free And Signup Credits

  • Do I need a credit card to start? No. The current free start is built around signup credits, and the public product can be browsed before purchase.
  • Do signup credits refresh every month? No. The current product does not position Free as a monthly refill plan.
  • Can free users still buy credit packs? Yes. Packs are available even when you are not on a paid subscription.

Plans And Billing Cadence

  • What are plans really buying? Predictable monthly capacity, not just a bigger number on the balance.
  • Do yearly plans still refresh credits monthly? Yes. The current billing docs say credits still refresh on a monthly rhythm even on yearly billing.
  • When should I choose a plan instead of a pack? Choose a plan when the work is recurring enough that you do not want each busy week to become a separate top-up decision.
  • Can I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel? Usually yes, through the billing flows exposed in the product and available Stripe customer portal tools.

Credit Packs

  • What are packs best for? Burst work, campaign spikes, client revision weeks, or topping up an otherwise reasonable baseline.
  • Do packs expire? Yes. The current docs say pack credits expire after 365 days.
  • Can packs sit on top of a plan? Yes. That is one of the most practical setups for users who have a normal monthly rhythm plus occasional heavy weeks.

Wallet, Charges, And Failed Runs

  • Do all workflows use one wallet? Yes. Chat, image, video, audio, and live tool-based chat all draw from the same shared wallet.
  • Why does chat billing feel different from generation billing? Chat can settle against actual usage after reservation, while image, video, and audio runs usually reserve credits before provider submission.
  • What happens if a billable run fails? Rivya may automatically return reserved credits or reverse the related usage record when the failure should be reversed.
  • What happens if I do not have enough credits? The billable run does not continue upstream, and the account may still receive a visible failure or low-credit event.

Checkout, Invoices, And Account Management

  • Where can checkout start? From public pricing or the relevant logged-in billing and credits pages.
  • When is a purchase really done? After Stripe Checkout completes and Rivya confirms the updated account state through the return flow and related billing updates.
  • Where do I manage a subscription? Use /settings/billing and the available Stripe-backed subscription tools.
  • Where do I inspect balance, expiry, or pack purchases? Use /settings/credits.

Refunds, Cancellations, And What Rivya Is Not Promising

  • Are completed purchases refundable? The current Terms of Service say completed purchases are generally non-refundable unless required by law.
  • Is a credit reversal the same as a cash refund? No. A returned reserved balance is an operational billing correction, not a promise of a cash refund.
  • Does Rivya promise a hard SLA for future-facing benefits or not-yet-live perks? No. Public pricing language should be read as the current offer, not as a strict SLA for future roadmap wording.

Pricing Question Checklist

This FAQ is for quick answers before buying or changing billing state:

  • Use /pricing and Stripe Checkout as the final source for current USD prices, discounts, tax, and payment availability.
  • Use plans for recurring monthly capacity; use packs for one-time overflow.
  • Confirm whether the issue is wallet balance, subscription state, Checkout return, or a failed task refund.
  • Separate credit reversal from cash refund; they are different product and legal concepts.
  • Check /settings/billing for plan management and /settings/credits for wallet and pack history.

Recheck Cost Or Access When

Recheck before answering if the user mentions a failed payment, missing credits, an old Checkout session, cancellation, refund expectation, or a plan shown differently from the public pricing page.
